2) One skill I learned was how to make a drawing with pencil crayons. I had to play around with many different combinations of colours and techniques. I incorporated my pencil crayon drawing of a scenic outside view into my project by making it one of the pictures on the wall. Another skill I learned was how to make a stencil by using an exacto knife. I grasped the skill to steady my so I could make straight and clean cuts which is a very important factor of using an exacto knife. I how this new learned skill will help in future art projects. Something I can improve on is my pencil crayon drawing. I know this will be useful for many things in the imminent future and I am very eager to excel in this category. I know that I have potential in this technique.
3) Most of the depth within this project came from the couch and the pillows because they were actually 3D. I used a block of wood to make the seats have depth and glued fabric over it. The pillows are folded fabric. I used fabric for a major proportion of my project and I really liked it because it created value by projecting its natural shadows which paper is incapable of. I think I really pulled through on the coach/middle ground.
4) I think I came so far from when I started my Cornell Box. At first I didn't really put so much effort into but out of nowhere my attitude completely changed. I ended up re-doing my entire project because I was unhappy with what I had. The new ideas I incorporated into the new version were adding bricks to the sides and a roof to the top. This idea I think is very ambitious but I am really pleased with how it turned out. I also added a whole window for my fore ground which I think is a way better idea than hanging something. A detail in the project that I really find cool is the wooden floor. It was in the old version and I am so happy that I was able to incorporate it in the new version. What makes the wooden floor look really cool is that the bottom of the box is actually made out of wood. I decided that it would make a realistic floor when coloured brown. I am very happy with the final outcome of my project and I am so proud of how far I came.
